Why spend extra 50-100 dollars 0n Xbox one 1gig storage, just buy this thing and have tons of storage and fast speed uploads. Once connected to Xbox one just follow menu directions and it's ready to go.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I want to order this for my boyfriend so I was reading the reviews. I saw that somebody used this drive with their Xbox one and it deleted the internal HD. Is that possible?

It will not do that. Once you add an external drive it is split into two save sections. Internal and external (whatever name you chose for it). When you go to my games there are 3 tiles one will say sort A-Z and second is sizing of tiles and third is choice of storage. You can choose all storage, internal or your external. Even if the internal storage was lost somehow it is saved on the Xbox cloud.

Is this backwards compatible with usb2

I have a older iMac with usb2 is this backwards compatible. I plan on upgrading down the road so usb3 will be handy then.
Yes it is. It's great because when you do upgrade you can use same storage with easy transition to new one.
