What I like most about this switch is NO BRICK to plug in! It's really nice that it can also be easily mounted in almost any position yet it's easy to release from the mounting bracket if needed. I've been using it as an unmanaged switch and so far it has worked flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another if the need arises.

Really like this case. It's well built, fits perfectly and provides good protection. It's a bit expensive, but if you plan on keeping your iPad for awhile it's a good investment.

Can this be used a a router
Can this be used with a cable modem as a router in a wired home network?
No. A switch is something you basically plug into a router to gain additional Ethernet ports. A router is needed to make one address from your modem into multiple addresses so you can share your Internet connection with multiple devices. Most routers provide a wifi signal and/or multiple Ethernet ports so a switch is only needed if your router doesn't have enough ports (places to plug a cable in).
