Logitech makes a great keyboard for both regular and mini iPads. I already had one for my iPad Air and was very pleased with it. Spacing of letters makes it easy to type, even with the mini keyboard being a bit smaller than the one for the regular iPad. It also serves as a protective cover for the iPad and holds it securely in place when typing. It holds a charge for a long time and is very reliable. Highly recommended!!

I have been using this cover for a few months, and am very satisfied. It is both lightweight and sturdy, offers very good protection for the mini iPad, and allows three different viewing angles.

What protection does it give to the iPad

In my opinion, the keyboard/cover offers excellent protection. It covers both the front and back of the iPad.

can you use the stand in portrait mode in any way?

No, there is no swivel mechanism.

Does this work with Ipad mini 2?

Yes, I have a mini 2 and bought this for it. Logitech also makes a larger one for the regular iPad.
