Google chromecast is a great little product for basic streaming. You are limited to the apps that are specified for it, but they seem to be adding more as time goes on. I stream through my phone and it works perfectly. Would definitely recommend as a more basic and cheaper alternative to Apple tv.

Can I stream games on ESPN3?

Occasionally my favorite sports team's games will be broadcast on ESPN3-- which is on ESPN.com instead of TV, would I be able to play these games on my TV using Chromecast?

Chromecast uses the watchESPN app. I've used it during college football games. But you have to be subscribed through your cable provider to the ESPN network that you want to watch. I was able to watch a game that was airing on regular ESPN elsewhere, but I could not watch a game on ESPN-U because it's not included in my cable package. The app does list ESPN3 as one of the available channels. Hope that helps!
