banged up, broken parts, just horrible. And BestBuy tells me on the phone I waited to long to inform them and there is nothing they can do. I waited 2 days too long according to the service center AND supervisor they old me they can't help me, the SOFTWARE WILL NOT LET THEM. So who has to overwrite the software, the CEO? After being a loyal customer with elite plus membership for many years I will have to think twice before i want to be treated as poorly again by bestbuy....

What's great about it: Price, keyboard, hybrid, weight, 8 GB Ram, I7 processor
What's not so great: it seems not faster then my 3 years old Toshiba I5, micro HDMI, no VGA, only 1 USB 3.0, win 8.1
I usually buy a new laptop every 2 years. my old Toshiba I5 (2. generation) was now 3 years old as I was looking for a new ultrabook but could not find anything I liked in the price range up to $1500.
This ultrabook sound amazing. 8GB ram, i7 (4 generation) , 256 GB SSD, amazing video capabilities, touchscreen!
but when I use it next to my old one (i5, 8 GB RAM, 180GB SSD, win 7 ultima) I don't see any difference. In the contrary, some things slow down after 2-3 days without a restart.
Interesting things:
I have 2 x Dell 24 inch monitors connected, one through the micro HDMI and 1 through a USB3 to HDMI video card. The USB 3 is amazing!. If needed I can have an external HDD, a printer and the video card all on the same USB and everything is still working fast enough.
If I have any video problems they will be with the micro HDMI, which will not initialize, I will have to put the laptop to sleep mode and then try again, usually it will work after that.

if the laptop goes to sleep it will leave the monitor that is connected through the USB3 on, it will not go to sleep mode automatically.
Battery is not removable, which is sad if you have the laptop on power all the time except when you travel like I do. on my old Toshiba I would just remove the battery so I don't have the yo-yo effect.
Touchscreen is fun, not usable for serious work though.
Sound is very good, very surprised by it.
Camera is great! 720p!
Keyboard is great, love it.
Size is also great. Feels and looks very solid.
all in all, you can't find a better laptop for that money (paid $1198) at the moment. For alternatives you must spend at least 50% more.
Amazing price Bestbuy, nice work.

no RAM extension possible, you need to go with the bigger one. its worth it!

It seems that Best Buy is no longer carrying the 8gb model that I have. I'm bummed because apparently after I bought this, Lenovo put out an updated version of the yoga 2 that had the improved "yellows" and the "fixed" wifi issues.
I looove this convertible but, I don't want this inferior model and am hoping that Best Buy gets in the newer model soon because I only have 2 weeks left to get a refund. It just doesn't seem fair to have to keep this "defective" model
If I explain this situation to management what is the possibility that they would extend the dates in which I can exchange or refund the product?

as far as I know the Wifi problem can be solved by software. you will find the right place to download through google. But to be honest, I would also love to get the yellow one :)

Can I lower the resolution to 1366x768 to match my dual monitor Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421?
I am currently using a Lenovo IdeaPad U300s 13.3" inch screen. I am pairing it with my Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421, as a dual monitor, and it works just perfectly. The maximum resolution on my U300s laptop is 1366x768.
There are many reasons why I would like to upgrade to a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, but one of the deal breakers would be if I will have any difficulty pairing it with my dual monitor, since I use it almost all the time. I understand that the Yoga 2 Pro has a amazing 3200x1800 screen resolution, but my concern is that I might have a headache using two screens with different resolutions, and I am willing to lower the resolution for the sake of being uniform
If I lower down the resolution on the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to 1366x768, will the screen resolution be a little distorted since the screen on the Yoga 2 Pro is not really made for this? Or will it work just perfectly fine, as if I was using my U300s?

works fine, I have it running on 2 x Dell U2412 and both on a resolution of 1920 x 1200.
