Renewing my daughter's 9 year Macbook Air only because the battery can't hold charge for too long anymore... Other than that, the older Mac has performed flawlessly... Screen, hinges, keyboard, memory are as good as when first bought. Go Apple.

Bought this modem/router cause Comcast made me upgrade to DOCSIS 3. This one comes with dual band 2.4 & 5Ghz but I find myself changing my 5Ghz capable devices back to the 2.4Ghz band due to poor reception around the house. (not a huge one).
Overall better speed due to new standards but not better coverage than my old Cisco e1000.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can this modem be used with any internet service provider?

We have AT&T for our home phone and internet service, but the modem we have from at&t is not working properly and very slow. I just want to make sure this will work with my current provider before i go ahead and purchase it.
This is a cable modem, that means it is intended to be connected to cable service providers, AT&T uses DSL as data medium so it won't work for you.

I know AT&T works with the WIRE brand of gateways (modem and router)
