I use this to backup via time machine two macs i own - each with a 500 GB internal drive. I partitioned this drive into 1 TB partitions and then run time machine for each Mac i own - very easy to partition nd no problems thus far

Will this drive work with a 2013 iMac?

I have read reviews about some drives not working with the latest iMacs.
I have used this with multiple Macs from multiple years including 2013. More important is the operating systems and I have not found any issues with any of the iOS systems that I have (Some are older and cannot be upgraded without hardware changes)
