What's great about it: easy upgrade
What's not so great: its windows 8.
Business needed to be able to RDP into a windows 8 machine. problem was it was 8 standard...no RDP in standard. So, for $100 we upgraded them to 8.1 pro. It worked...they are happy. Personally, i still rather 7...but you go where the tech takes ya!

Needed this in a bind. I usually shop online or at a local computer store. Didnt have the time for either. So, grabbed this. Its a switch...so nothing complicated about plugging it in and walking away. i could have bought a similar model for about 20% of the price i spent on this...only drawback.

What's great about it: Good quality, great layout, great apps (once you install amazon app store)
What's not so great: lack of a stylus
OK, so i now have 3 nabi tabs in my house. 2 of the regular nabi's for my 7 and 8 year olds and this for my 3 year old. He loves it. Oddly it plays some games that the step up version wont! Now, the apps included are good...but install the amazon app store and get TONS of free games and apps! Oddly its lacking a stylus...it comes with a stylus place holder. Its just a all plastic version...prolly cost them about $0.10 less then the actual stylus they will try and sell you later for who knows how much. But, that is my only complaint. Otherwise, perfect for the lil ones!

Can this upgrade replace Windows XP
It cant upgrade it. you need a full install to go from XP to 8. only 7 is upgradable to 8

I have recently purchased a new laptop installed with Windows 8 (not 8.1) I will need to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro.. can this upgrade do that?

Yep. you'll need to do the free 8 to 8.1 upgrade in the windows store first though.

Does Quicken accounting compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro Pack?
I have I Quicken for Home & Business software which is requires 32 or 64 bits. I didn't see any info about that in Windows 8.1 Pro Pack!

what do i need to upgrade from xp to windows pr
i am running xp pro and need to upgrade to 8
XP wont upgrade to 8. only 7 will. So, a fresh install. Honestly its better anyway...cleaner. Many XP programs wouldnt work native on 8 from XP anyway.

can i upgrade from windows vista
No. you can only upgrade from 7. you will need to do a clean install. Honestly, its better to do that. much cleaner. back up your files, when you install and see the options for upgrade and advanced, choose advanced. upgrade will save your current windows install in a folder called windows.old and take up TONS of space. in advance, choose drive options and delete all partitions. again BACK UP FIRST! Anything and everything!!!

Upgrading from Windows XP by purchasing 8.1 Windows
If I purchase your software for my older computer, you mean to tell me that using the key code of the product I cannot download this to another computer using my key code since I have purchased the software? I was under the impression that I could download it to more than one computer should I decide to give, which in this case is my 85 year old Mother, the key code that comes with the software.

What antivirus is compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro?
Most will be just fine, unless your trying to install a very old AV. honestly you should get one that is new anyway. I would recommend Avast free. Its always treated me well...and...its free:)
