Not my first Logitech this one is horrid,batteries don't last, it keeps turning itself off I am very very unhappy with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can this unit be placed in a wall mount instead of a window?

What do you mean by Wall Mount? I have mine in a window that opens horizontally, I built a piece of wood for it to sit on and then a piece of wood to cover the space between the AC, the wall, the window and the top of the window. Not sure if this helps.
