Right out of the box, once the the battery was fully charged and everything. was set up, we were good. Picture quality is HD excellent . Read the directions and you will come out with both great videos but also awesome pictures at the same time. Very Satisfied with this purchase, Thank You.

are there filters, like soft focus? or can i get those attachments for soft focus?

Sorry, I was only in search of a good video camera, no need for extras at this time. And this camera takes such wonderful photos and videos I didnt feel there was a need for confusing a first timer with all extra parts.
