The webcam itself is very easy to set up and requires no fancy tricks or wires to plug into. It is a wonderful first camera to invest in if you are looking for a inexpensive fit to your new hobby. how can the volume of the built in mic be controlled>

There should be a control panel on your computer at the bottom right. It looks like a little speaker you need to right click on that and it should open something called a sound mixed and you are able to adjust the incoming noises or sounds that the mic pics up.
