This wireless mouse works great. Simple to setup and the use is effortless. Additionally, it feels comfortable in your hand.

Is green light supposed to be solid or go off after a few seconds?

The battery is new but the green light still goes off after a few seconds and never comes back on unless I turn it off and restart it. Is this defective?
It's only on momentarily, ie it is not constantly on. Additionally, after a period of inactivity, the mouse will go into standy mode. When it detects activity/movement, the green light will come on for a few seconds to show that it's on/active and then go out.

what is the piece called that plugs into your laptop to make the wireless mouse work and can you buy that piece if you already have the mouse?

The piece is the wireless USB device that you connect to your computer. It comes with the mouse in the package. I don't know if you can buy it seperately or if a different wireless USB device will work with your wireless mouse.
