What's great about it: Super-simple, reliable, fast throughput
What's not so great: Price
You can get off-brands for half the price, and hopefully these will drop, as more vendors get into the market, but I prefer Netgear to anyone else, because of their product reliability.
Absolutely no setup. 1-connect to the router, 2-plug the 1st one in a dedicated AC outlet, 3-do the same wherever you want in the same building, then connect your device, the same way. 4-get online!
I've set up several of these, and had only one kit not work well, and the configuration was somewhat different than "normal", but all else have been remarkably simple, set-and-forget, wonderful technology.
The only setup to be careful about, is using the adapter with a switch, and multiple connections. A single connection is guaranteed success.
This product has... Fast connection, Reliable connection

I would recommend this to a friend!

Can win 7 be installed on this machine. I know it preloaded with win 10

Most likely not. Almost every computer built for Windows 8 and 10 have no hardware drivers for Windows 7. But since some do, you need to check the website for all available drivers, which you'd need to anyway, before you install or reinstall Windows.

Can this use the same SSID as my existing router?

So i won't have to change networks on devices when the signal gets weak as I move away from the main router.
The short answer is no. You'll have to manually change to "(SSID)-ext", or trust your device to switch. There is a Ubiquiti product that will seamlessly carry the same signal to any length, but they're expensive, and tricky to install.

No! It's not a mobile mouse, it simply moves PowerPoint slides.

Will this printer run with Microsoft XP pro?

The best way to find if any printer will work with your operating system, is to look on their website. HP is easy to look up. Go to their support page, look for drivers downloads, type in the model number, and match the operating system. If it doesn't show XP (or whatever os), it won't work.

Will a backup be compatible with windows 10?

If I backup windows 7 system and and change over to windows 10 will everything be compatible?
Assuming you're talking a Windows backup, then yes. And any other program you might use to backup your data, should be compatible in Win10.

does the system support Raid 1

want to mirror the HD with a second one, since my last pc I lost everything with a hd fail (and auto back up fail).
If you haven't (or don't know how to) checked the BIOS for RAID capability, then you probably better not, or let someone check, and set it up for you. Most later Dell's have the RAID option, with plenty of SATA connectors on the motherboard, therefore, go for it.

can you use 2 monitors with this tower?

Does this tower have the ability to run 2 monitors, it has a VGA output and HDMI output.
Yes! Even if the graphics connectors aren't both internal or external, the BIOS will make you hit F1 to continue, and Windows will let you extend your display to both monitors. Why not get extreme, and add a Graphics card (if the PCI-ex slot is open), and use 4 monitors?

I have a Linksys WRT160 wireless router do I need to upgrade?

Here's a perfect rule of thumb: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If your devices have a strong enough signal, so that the don't drop out, or buffer videos, then the router is doing the job you need. BestBuy is so great about accepting returns without a hassle, if you need a better router, go to the next higher range, and if it still doesn't meet your needs, upgrade again.

what do I need to purchase to get wi-fi to work with my sudden link cable network

I bought a Motorola surfboard S86121 and a belkin 598 and have had problems ever since I got them hooked up.
First, from my humble 30 years experience, I'd say to get rid of the Belkin, and get a Netgear wireless router. Then make sure you connect everything in correct order, then reboot the modem, the router, then maybe the computer.

Windows 8.1

I tried Win 8.1. It was a refurbished unit from Walmart and I returned it. Is it necessary to need a Microsoft address in order to use the computer. I share my computer with the family and having to give out the password on a private email address so others can use the computer is not comfortable to say the least. Can this be bypassed. I'm wanting to buy another computer, but this time from Best Buy.
Yes, and no! You have to create a Microsoft account, and use the account for administrative tasks, but you can also create a "local account" for each user (or just one for everyone), which won't need your password. That way, normal everyday usage won't require a password, and you they can ask you to plug in your password to do things that might require your approval.
