What's great about it: Large hard drive size allows you not to worry about space when backing up your personal data & multimedia files
Purchased this extra internal hard drive for my older 120 GB Hard Drive personal computer that is getting a little long in the tooth, but still has my preferred choice of the Windows XP Operating System. As an amateur writer, oldies song aficionado and someone who scans everything to keep my office "paperless", this is a great addition to archive what's truly important

What's great about it: Easy to install and configure
Needed a second hard drive for storage on my primary computer and when Best Buy placed this drive on sale, I leaped at the opportunity. They are easy to install and have always served me well.

will this harddrive work in my dell optiplex gx270 desktop

It certainly will as long as you have the proper connector cables. It is SATA and not IDE, but thoughtfully, Seagate provides you with the proper connectors inside with the Hard Drive.
