I have a lot of photos on my laptop, and I back them up to an external hard drive, I wanted a second backup method, so I purchased this flash drive. It provides a lot of space for pictures. I have to admit that I haven't tried putting all of them on the drive yet, but I have transferred some photos to the drive for viewing on my TV. It worked well.

I am a big fan of Roku devices. I've had one for probably over a decade now. I recently bought a Roku 2 for a TV without an HDMI connection and now this Roku 3 for my Sony HDTV. Roku is outstanding because of the number of channels available, and the ease of setup and streaming capability.
Then why only 3 stars? After buying the Roku 3 I read about others having a problem with an "unauthorized content" message. I thought I was lucky until I got the message myself one day. On another occasion, the player was completely unresponsive to the remote control. Both these issues were easily resolved by unplugging the Roku 3, waiting about 30 seconds and plugging it in again. It seems like a minor thing until you read the comments of people who had the problem two years ago. Roku should have fixed it by now. My understanding, too, is that it only happens on the 3, and not the 2. I have not experienced the unauthorized content error on my Roku 2, or my older DX, so I believe this is true.
Overall, I like the product, but Roku needs to fix their software before I give the Roku 3 a rating of 5.

Was wondering if u can pick Irish or english channels
I don't know, but there are a number of sites where you can see what is available on Roku. They have official channels, but also unofficial ones, which still work on the player. Just do a search for Roku channels on the internet.

Can you use roku if you have an older model TV
I have a older model TV with the white, red and yellow plugs connections; can I still connect the roku to this type of RCA floor model TV?
No, The Roku 3 only works on TVs with an HDMI connection. The Roku 2, however, will work on an older TV.
