Easy to connect and use and natively works on Macs. It is very quiet in operation and powers on/off with the computer and can be set up for sleep mode. Downsides: It has a proprietary (USB) connector cable so you don't want to lose or forget to keep the cable with the drive. Also there is no power light or indicator so you don't know if it's powered on unless you look on the computer. Also, you will need to use the provided (installed on drive) WD tools instead of the Mac Disk Utility app to manage some functions - not sure about PC's. Despite the noted downside issues it's a very good drive - I've bought a few of them for various computers we have and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I own a number of AppleTV units (one for every TV and stereo and one for traveling). They operate wirelessly or via ethernet connection to any computer running iTunes to allow you to stream music or movies from your iTunes library to your home TV or A/V system. The interface is easy to navigate and the units are easy to set up. In addition to streaming from your local iTunes library you can also stream music/videos from dozens of internet sites provided through the AppleTV interface (including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, HBO, Disney, Showtime, etc. plus dozens of news, sports, and entertainment outlets, etc. - note that some sites require a subscription though many are free). You can even take it with you on vacation. I've streamed content from iTunes running on my laptop to a hotel TV that had an HDMI input. You can also stream content from the internet using the hotel WiFi connection.

It works fine but doesn't have a lot of capacity to support a lot of devices (it has more than enough plugs for the capacity). It has one feature that caused me to regret the purchase - you can't turn off the audible alarm. If the power goes off or if you have a brown out the alarm goes off and won't stop until the condition is corrected or you power off the unit (and everything thats connected to it). That's a VERY BAD feature. Spend the extra bucks and get a UPS that allows you to turn off the audible alarm (like the larger APC 1500VA unit) - you'll be happy you did (or, if you don't, you'll regret the decision one of these days - if you'r lucky it won't be at 3 am...).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The BluRay disk worked fine but the Digital HD Download advertised I could 'Instantly stream and download' the movie to a TV, Computer, Tablet or Smartphone. Yeah, right. If you follow the directions ("3 Easy Steps") you're forced to select a service to download from. If you select Google (my error) you'll find that you can't download the computer to a Mac computer (!!!) - you can only download it to a google chrome or Android computer. So, I was unable to download this movie to add to my iTunes library and the company didn't care to help - emails were returned with 'we're sorry, but...' BS. And once you redeem the movie from one service you can't redeem it from another one. And the services don't tell you if they have limitations (like won't work for Macs, etc.) Don't assume that the Digital download feature will work for you! If you don't need/want digital download don't spend the extra money to get it as it won't necessarily work for you.

I recently had our house wired with 2 cat6 drops in each room (one for computer, one for video use) and had all cables run to a central closet. I mounted this switch on the closet wall using angle brackets and connected all of the cat6 cables to it. There were a few unused ports that I used to connect some network drives to. I currently have 4 computer systems, 4 video systems, and 6 network drives connected to the switch and all systems are running with no problems or interference. The switch operates flawlessly and is unmanaged (i.e. doesn't require any confusing setup - just plug it in and it works). I manage all of my computers/network devices from one location and regularly have multiple screen sharing sessions going simultaneously and have never experienced any slowdown or hiccups on any connection. It's a very good switch for my situation.

I have purchased numerous UPS units and I like this one a lot (I now have 4 of these for various computers in our house). It has a good power capacity plus sufficient battery backup and surge only outlets for most small computer systems. One nice feature is being able to turn off the audible alarm. I HATE being woken up at 3 am by a loud 'brown out' alarm from a UPS that you can't turn off unless you power off the UPS. I don't have this problem with this model. I'd buy it again (and I did - 3 times!).

I have a screen protector on my phone and I sometimes have to press repeatedly with my finger before the phone responds to my touch. This stylus works well and consistently through the screen without having to press items repeatedly. Its also much more accurate using the stylus than using my pudgy pinkies... Using the phone is much easier when using the stylus. I will keep a stylus with me from here on out!

We have 2 different USB charging plugs we use in our car but don't have multiple power ports we can use (and I don't want to pay to have another installed) - this product allows us to use both chargers at the same time which is quite handy. The only 'issue' is its very tight getting 2 large USB plugs into it at the same time. There's barely enough separation to accommodate 2 large plugs which makes it difficult to put them in and pull them out if your fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be... Still, it's a very useful product and worth buying if you need 2 USB chargers at one time.

Everyone who sees this loves watching the marching lights while the phone charges. Very cool. And the lights stop marching and turn off when the phone is charged. You can see when the phone is done charging without having to go look at the phone. Excellent Feature! The only complaint I have is the connector can sometimes loosen in the lightning connector port of the phone and stop charging. It only happens when using it in the car (vibrations). You just have to push it back in if that happens so it's not that big a deal, but enough to give it only 4 stars for a 5 star product idea.

Just bought this unit yesterday. We have the Polk audio speakers with center speaker and sub woofer. When we have everything on the volume has to be up to 63.5..Is this normal or do we have something wrong?
I don't know if this is "normal" or not but I have experienced the exact same thing. I have Altec Lansing Model 19 studio monitors with a center speaker and rear surround speakers but no sub. I went through the speaker setup procedure using the provided microphone and stand as they specified and we also have to use a normal listening volume between 55 and 70. That seems a bit odd to me but as we haven't needed to go above 70 I haven't gotten too worried about it (though I do wonder if the unit is a bit underpowered for our system/room). My wife complains that she has to pump the volume button for a long time to get the volume to get to the right level.
Overall we really like the unit but agree that this is an odd feature.

Can the warning alarm for power interruption be turned off so that it doesn't chirp during a power failure?
NO - it screams until the power interruption is corrected or until you turn off the unit (removing power to all attached devices). I recommend you buy a different unit that will allow you to turn off the audible alarm. I like the APC 1500VA unit that has a dedicated button to silence the alarm (one push).

Does it have a power outage alarm/beep?
My present battery back-up system has a piercing beep that sounds every minute or two while the power is out. Very disturbing, especially middle of night. Does the APC-Back-UPS 700VA Battery Back -Up System have an alarm system of any sort, and if so, what?
YES - it screams at the top of it's beeper and you can't turn the alarm off until the condition is corrected (power restored completely) - you have to power off the unit (and everything connected to it) to make it shut up. Unless you don't have the bucks you should consider buying a different unit - I like the larger APC 1500VA unit - you can turn off the audible alarm on that model with a simple (dedicated) button push.

it comes with rack mounting tabs that you can attach (screws supplied) or not depending on your use. I used the rack mounting tabs to attach the switch to some brackets mounted to a wall so the switch was mounted with the ports up - worked well for this.
