I would rename it as an adaptor, but regardless it works fine on older cases that aren't set up for the smaller hdd's and ssd's.

Great gaming card and for all around computing. Will idle along all day and when you want to clock it and game it does it fine. I recommend it for all but the most intense of gamers who will go bigger is better, pass on it, and that's not ALWAYS true.

What's great about it: No heat, excellent write and read speeds, in a small package
What's not so great: I should have bought several, for gifts. Nothing wrong, I could find.
I am one of the people moving to the android based PC systems, called Mini PCs. Mine has four gigs of ram, supports a one Tgig HDD or SSD, four 3.0 USB I/Os two BT and two WiFi and Ethernet r45 in. It plugs into any TV any where it has a connection, and it and the ext HDD I got are about the same size and I stacked them with a DVD ODD into an old wooden stereo box with room for the speaker to remain. I have a blazing PC the size-8"x12"x8" deep and I really like it. It's also virtually impossible to hack into. Running Ubuntu Virtual site.
This product has... Reliable, Fast, Attractive design/portable, Quiet, Large capacity/good size, it's my external/internal hdd
About me... Budget Conscious, Technology guru, needed no heat no drain usb hdd for my pc build, cool ext hdd and fast to boot
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is it compatible with Chromebook OS?

Chrome Books are meant to run on CLOUD storage and will never run properly with more than flash memory and the cloud. It might back it up, but it's way too much HDD for the job. Me personally, I would trade the Chrome Book in on a good laptop, or get a laptop and keep the CB as a
(What it is, a glorified tablet). Hope this helps a little?
