Used the headphones on plane trip to Europe, noise cancellation was poor, have better with noise cancelling ear buds at one fourth of the cost. Also had static sound over the movies on the plane. Very disappointed, expected better. The headphones my wife has from them, is far superior, though not Bluetooth.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How do I remove the Bluetooth adapter

To unplug you just pull the Bluetooth adapter straight down and insert the corded plug, or vise versa.
