What's great about it: Plug and Play

What's not so great: Nothing that I can see

My other DVD player broke down. I actually bought two of these units. Brought them home, plugged them in to the existing wires, took out the remote and it fired up immediately with great picture quality. Believe me I am not great at these setups and this was extremely easy. If I can do it anyone can :)

Component video cable?

Will I see any noticeable improvement if I use a component video cable instead of the supplied composite cable to connect this DVD player to a 32" 720p TV?

None whatsoever. The quality is the same either way. It is fantastic.
