Can I use it with a Surface Pro 3?
I have a 2TB Ultra that works in a laptop or computer, do not work on my Surface.
You may need a powered USB Hub in order to provide the extra power that this device requires. Otherwise, my guess is it should work. Your 2TB drive may also work if you put a powered hub between it and your Surface.

Can I backup a Windows 8.1 computer and XP computer on one external hard drive?
We have two computers, Win 8.1 and XP. Can both computers be backed up on one external hard drive?
You can back up any number and type of computers on this drive, mixing and matching as you please. You probably won't be able to back up a "Boot Image" from more than one computer though.

This drive should be perfectly compatible with any computer that supports USB.

what to do when passport did not appear on the desktop
If you don't see it in My Computer (Windows) or similar File Manger program, it is likely the driver did not install. Unplug and replug the drive with the computer on and see if you get a message advising of a problem with the Device driver. You may then need to make sure you are connected to the internet and let your computer go out on the web to find and load a driver for it.

Your tablet should have a File Manager program already installed. It might be called MY FILES or something similar. Otherwise, you can download a File Manager ap from the Ap Store or Google Play.
In many of these aps, you select the files, select COPY or MOVE from a pop-up menu, then browse to the destination folder and select PASTE.
You can often also use your Photo Gallery ap to MOVE the files. Select the files and select MOVE from a pop-up menu. The ap should prompt you to select the destination folder.
An alternative is to connect the tablet to your computer and connect the memory card to you computer as well through a card adapter, then use (in Windows for example) Computer or Explorer to Drag&Drop the files from one device to another.
There are even more ways to transfer the files, e.g. send them to the Cloud, Facebook, Dropbox, etc., then pull them back down directly onto the SD card that is installed in the tablet..

Adapter Use
Can you use the micro sdhc card in the adapter to take pictures in a digital camera than only has a sdhc slot? Or is the adapter for read only purposes?
Yes, most likely it will work. The adapter is a simple pass-thru device that doesn't affect the speed or connection of the memory card, and is provided for both read and write.

Will the adapter work for any microSDHC (for example a Sandisk one) or was it made for just the included card?
In my experience, all these adapters work with any micro SD card. They are simple pass-thru devices, so if the memory card is fast enough for your device, it should work.

Will this work in a wildlife camera?
It definitely should work, even if you need to adapt it up to the mini or original SD card size.
