I had bought another modem and router separately before. And I was always facing one issue or the other with them. This Router + Modem works very well. I have 25mbps connection from comcast and it provides me ~25 mpbps on my laptop with online speed test websites.
I am fine with this .. The only thing that i need to do is to reboot it once a week. It gets someissues like wifi not available after few days .. i think it gets tired :) . So if you dont want any jazzy stuff line(which i am not sure this will handle because I have not tested it) , then this is the modem for you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this unit transmit both bands 2.4g and 5g at same time?

Will you see both bands when you search for your Wi-Fi networks. Box indicates it is dual band but specs show transmit frequency of 2.4g only.
No it does not. You see only one at a time.
