Is internal memory different than the MicroSD card?
Is the factory internal memory (16GB model or 32GB model) different than the MicroSD card storage that could be changed out? I understand that the phones can take up to a 64GB MicroSD card. Is internal memory different than the MicroSD card? Samsung - Galaxy S3.
Yes they are two different things. Think of the internal memory (either 16 or 32G) as the RAM on your computer and the MicroSD card as the flash drive that you can hook up to an external port on your computer. While you can increase the size of the MicroSD card by the size of card you buy and install on the phone, the internal memory is what it is and can not be upgraded/increased. Depending on how much you are planning to store on the phone (photos, videos, email, music, etc) you are always better off storing most of that on the MicroSD card and leave the internal memory for apps to get the most out of your phone.
