We gave up cable a few years back and live on Netflix. We got this to stream instead of our Wii and couldn't be happier. We love that we can access different movie houses and even Disney and Disney XD (thanks to our in-law's account). The only caveat is that the Netflix episodes do not automatically play with the Roku we have.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am ignorant re streaming. One of your products said that I could stream tv shows to my tv. I'm interested.! What do I need to get to start it. ?
You can stream tv shows through sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Vudu. There are many others too, but most (if not all) require either a paid account or pay per episode. To browse, scroll through all the available channels the Roku offers, or visit Roku.com to learn more.
