It is nice to find a game that is closer to real war in the current or prior era's as opposed to the futuristic war games. if you can get used to the guns, it is a fun game, kind'a COD 2, but with different guns.

This is an "N" router, so it does not have the faster 5g speed like the "1900" models do.

Do i have to have Enternet service at all in order for this router to work?
You need Internet service from someone like Comcast or Verizion to start with. From there, you could use thier modem/router. From there, it depends on the devices in your house, if they have wireless, you should be able to connect to the router and get on the internet. If not, you would have to be hardwired with an ethernet cable to the router.

Will this alone connect me to the internet?
Can I just purchase this or do I also have to find a company and purchase their internet service as well? Don't know much about this process so any help would be great.
No, you must have a service provider who runs a wire to your house such as comcast (cable) or verizon (fiber). Then you can buy a modem or use their modem. From there, you connect a router like this into the modem. Most providers now a days provide both a modem and router with their Internet service which works fine for most people.

The specifications state this has an integrated modem. After opening the box and trying to hook this up I find it says I have to hook up to a modem. So what does integrated modem mean?
No, that model does not appear to have an integrated modem with it.

Does this router also serve as a wireless access point for bridging? Can it receive wireless signals from other wireless routers?
You would want to hardwire the two routers together and then use the second one in bridge mode, it would be the fastest througput.

Conceptually yes. I really depends what features you have turned on with your Verizon router vs the ASUS router. For instance, only one can be the DHCP. You could use the Fios router as you main outbound connection to the internet and then use the ASUS in bridge mode and have all of your wireless connection come through the ASUS. Probably several options you could do.

What processor does it have in it? How many GHZ?
Depends on the model you buy. The RT-68U (or R) have an 800Mhz and the RT-68P has a 1Ghz. (from what I have read)

What is best router for two story home , have extender , using upstairs and where would you place the wifi ?
Having wifi issues in home , mom has tablet , couple of iPhones and if one person gets on I can get one bar upstairs. We have netgear
That is not an easy question to answer. The best i can tell you is that the 5g is able to penetrate walls and ceilings, but the 2.4g penetrates much better. It might be good to do a dual band router so you have the option of switching in case your 5g band gets slow.
You could use a second router with exact same wifi settings, some people do that instead of an extender. There is also ASUS 1900 package that comes with an extender, and I think they sell it separately for $60.
Usually people are stuck with the location, they tend to have it next to the cable modem. The nighthawk seems to have good range in my large 3 story house.

Does Router run hot and any thoughts on buying this router over the Netgear nighthawk ac1900?? Does this router run hot to the touch?
I've had it a few months and it doesn't seem to run hot at all. I read a bunch of reviews and while they spec the same, I saw a few different sites rate the ASUS faster in most of the tests. All my friends have the netgear nighthawk and love it. I was sold on the slightly faster bandwidth and the interface is freak'in awesome.
