I was originally looking more for a wireless camera to monitor a pet in the next room, but as an honest review of what I saw of the system, the Arlo is not too bad if you wish to setup a very basic motion detection security.
Setup was relatively painless, although the icons may need a little better explanation. The basic set up allows for a few days of recording and will record only when it detects motion.
The cameras work off batteries and not ideal for live recording, but good when you want it to only record when motion is happening. Its notification system can be a bit spammy, but you can tune it down.
I would recommend people have a separate email setup for reporting notifications, as active areas can get a bit spammy while it is armed.

Ideally, you will want a secondary power adapter as you will use one at home, and you want one with you or at a work desk if you use it for more than just recreational and drain the battery faster than you expect.
The only drawback with the adapter is the fact the part that plugs into the wall is rather large in a 'vertical' design, so you will lose 2 outlets unless you have a powerstrip that has the plug orientation sideways to avoid the adapter covering up other plugs.

I opted to get this to replace the USB stick I was using to put my Music on for my car because the USB stick was too obvious sticking out.
This guy is a bit more steadier, as with the stick USB I had, took a while for the music to load up, this one was fairly quick and responsive for the car to pick it up.
The only con is that the sleave to cover it I fumbled and lost it, so it is very easy to lose that or itself since it is pretty small.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is a reasonable external hard drive. For those not familiar with hard drives, don't worry about the fact it isn't a full 4 terabyte drive, this is typical of all hard drives due to how they are done. Things to look out for is that you will need to reformat the drive if you plan on using Windows' built in backup, it took me a while to realize the issues of using windows backup was due to how the drive was formatted.
The speed of the drive is within reason, make sure you are using USB 3, other wise large data will take a bit longer, this is limited by your computer, not the drive itself. It is a little big and heavy as well as having a power adapter, so this is more ideal for desktop computer backup than a laptop or something that is portable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: A good continuation of TiVo
What's not so great: Had to re-set it up a few times.
I'm a long time TiVo user, and the Roamio system is not too bad. I had to replace the old TiVo Series 2 DT for the Roamio due to the local cable company requiring a Tuning Adapter for their channels, and the Series 2 doesn't have a cable card slot. It did require me to set up a few times to get older programs over to it and the User Interface was a bit different than the Series 2, but over all, works pretty well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is there a monthly fee for tv roamio dvr just to record shows on free tv with an antena, no cable?
The TiVo Subscription service is for updating the TiVo and also getting the scheduling information for the TiVo. So in most cases, you can run the TiVo like the old VCRs, but you will have to manually program it to record shows on what channels versus having the TiVo do the scheduled recording based on shows or Season Passes.

Can I watch any other TV program while recording 4 separate programs?
Also, do I need a special card if I've gotten rid of my Comcast Cable box?
If you got the Roamio Pro or Premier, you will need the Cable Card for the Digital/HD service... TiVo stated as such in this case. For some cable providers, you will also need a Tuning Adapter, like Cox Cable required it.
One of the things you will need to also be aware of is that the Cable Card and Tuning Adapter will act 'quirky'. The most common fix for it is to either reboot the TiVo box or restart the tuning adapter at times.
