I purchased this battery pack about three weeks ago. I managed to get the last one in stock at my local Best Buy when it was on sale, and I'm glad I did! The good: it does exactly what it's made to do-add some extra juice to my iPhone 6 Plus. It doesn't charge it to 100 percent, but it wasn't made to do that. It will give you about a 60-70% charge from empty. But if you use it sparingly and activate it when your phone gets down to about 30% or so, it will give it a good boost in a relatively quick time. For me, I bring it along to use for those times when I'm going to be out and about most of the day.
The bad: Due to the thickness added, it tends to be on the bulky side, but hey, that's the trade off that you have to make in order to get that extra battery life you MAY find yourself needing during those long day's journey into night types of days that may come up. That's why I use a regular slim case for my normal days, but I keep this bad boy in my bag for those extra long ones that come up. Despite it's size and the added bulk it adds to an already HUGE iPhone, it is surprisingly light weight, which is an additional plus in my book! Highly recommended if you need an extra battery pack!
I would recommend this to a friend!

As some of you may know, Plasma sets are on the way to obscurity, and as a big fan of the technology this was indeed sad news to me. That's why it was very fortunate for me to be able to grab one of these sets before they are gone. Let me say right up front that if you are looking for a set with eye popping bright colors that you might see in the stores, you will be disappointed, but please do not be initially put off by this when first turning on this set. If you take a bit of time to properly calibrate it, you will be greatly rewarded with one heck of a set for the price! You can find great calibration settings by doing a google search of the name and model number. A good place to find excellent calibration settings for this set is at the AVS forum. That's where I got my calibration settings. Colors are very pleasing and blacks, which is one of Plasma's greatest strengths, are excellent! This set easily out classes my ancient Hitachi 42HDT20 Plasma set which was one of the best back in 2002, and which is still going strong as my bed room set.
Bottom line: a highly recommended set for the money. I wish I had the room in my living room for the 60 inch version. Either way, I say grab one while you can before they are gone. You won't be disappointed!

PN51F5500AFXZA

Hi,

Does anyone know if this TV is any different from PN51F5500AFXZA aside from smart/3d features? Thx.
The sets are the same, except for the smart/3D features.

Is there a different between the Samsung PN51F5300 and the Samsung PN51F5500?

I see them both for sale although the 5300 is 200 dollars cheaper then the other one which I believe has 3D and Smart features. If it is otherwise the same exact quality tv minus the extra features that is all I would like to know :)
The only difference between the two sets are that the 5500 is a "Smart" set. It has an Ethernet Port on the rear of the set to allow for internet access and it also has Netflix, etc. availability. If you already have an outboard box like for instance an Apple TV or Roku box for streaming content already, then you do could save $200 or more and just get the 5300.

The specs don't say anything about audio. Are speakers included?

Yes, speakers are included with this set. They are built in.

Is there a break in period for this TV?

An excellent question! This being a somewhat subjective question, my opinion is that for me, after calibrating my set, which I did within the first thirty minutes of tuning it on, I noticed no difference from now, having owned the set for about a month. But again, this is a question that only you can decide upon. You can find lots of other opinions that differ as well as agree with my own by visiting websites like the AVS Forum, which is an excellent site for information and tips regarding all types of gear.

adjust picture size

how do you adjust picture size? it seems to overlap the screen & the control button doesn't do much - what am I missing?
You can adjust the picture size using the tools button on the remote. It toggles between the following sizes: 16:9; Zoom1, Zoom2 (greyed out and only available from the component / AV composite source); wide fit; 4:3; and finally, Screen Fit. Each of these are useful depending on the type of program you are watching.

Additional Hookups

I currently have a 42" Samsung after 9 yrs the color is starting to go. My question is ; I have my dvd, my stereo receiver for surround sound and a WII connected with multiple audio/video cables connected to the back of the tv. Will this PN515300AFXZA accommodate my needs?
There are 2 HDMI ports, 1 SHARED component (for older high definition sources) / composite (for even older standard definition stuff such as old VHS or DVD players with the yellow (video), red & white (audio) jacks on the back. The Samsung set allows you to connect either component video OR analog composite video, but not both at the same time. However, you could connect these components to your surround receiver if it has these inputs on the back and run a set of cables from the main A/V outputs of your receiver to the TV.

What is the length/width of the stand?

What is length and width of the stand for this tv? Only see overall width of the tv, not the stand. Trying to determine if will fit on furniture I already have in place,
The size of the stand ONLY is 26" wide by 12" deep.

does this tv have zoom in function to eliminate the black bars

Hello Manny. Yes, this set has a zoom 1 and zoom 2 mode, but are only accessible via the component video outputs and only work with standard definition (480i or 480P) sources. They will be greyed out when trying to access from the HDMI input. Hope this helps!
