My review is completely irrelevant. I did not use personally install my dishwater so, I don't know if this piece was necessary. The installation seemed to have gone fine and I cannot tell if there is a performance difference between my new and old washer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is the interior stainless steel? Also, what is the charge for delivery, inatallation and removal of old dishwasher?
The inside is not stainless steel. The inside is actually a white high-density plastic. As far as the installation costs: I purchased my dishwasher while Best Buy was running an installation special. The special offered a delivery charge of $19.99 for all Whirlpool washers. Embedded in that cost was free haul away.
