I needed a cable at the data center to connect one Cisco layer 3 switch to another in a different room over a rack ladder system. Ran the cable, plugged it in, works great. Passing IPv4 and IPv6 on a Gigabit port. No problems. If it'll work for my application, it'll work for you.

I went it for a wired mouse but my local BestBuy didn't have any so I grabbed this Logitech M301 wireless mouse. Inexpensive and works great, very nice!

I bought this for my wife and she really likes it. The LEDs on the wristband indicate roughly how many steps she's taken in a day so it's easy to tell if she is meeting her goal. The stats dashboard looks nice and has some great stats on steps, sleep, and more.

They make these in larger sizes that have more display capabilities on the wristband itself, but were larger overall. I'm glad I bought her this version and she's been very happy with it. Men may be interested in the larger models.

I purchased the Amazon Fire because I have Amazon Prime and my 4 year old Samsung HD TV does not have an Amazon app available for it. I already had an Apple TV, but it's no surprise that Apple doesn't have an Amazon Prime app.

Overall I like the form factor, and the remote fit nicely in my hand, moreso than the Apple TV. The UI is very nice and intuitive as well, and I find it to be well designed overall.

I have only 1 complaint about the Fire. When I set up the device I selected to enable Parental Controls. I did this because I don't want my young children accidentally making purchases. The problem I had is that I could only enter the passcode once, subsequent times would time out and I would have to restart the device. After I restarted it, and I selected something that required the parental passcode, it would accept it.. but only once. An endless cycle.

So I tried to turn Parental Controls off, but in order to turn it off you have to enter the passcode twice. Once to enter the system settings, and again to disable Parental Controls. So I was stuck. I repeated the process, powering off the device at least a dozen times until finally it allowed me to enter the code twice and disable the controls.

I don't know what caused that issue, and Amazon wasn't very helpful -- they have instructions on helping you recover a forgotten passcode, but don't know what to do about the issue I was experiencing.

I haven't had any issues at all since, and otherwise find it to work very well.

What's great about it: Fast write speeds

What's not so great: Only 16GB, would consider a larger capacity card next time

I haven't had any issues with this card whatsoever, it works very well. The fast write speeds are perfect for HD video recording on my DSLR camera. 16GB was enough for my purpose, but I would probably consider a larger capacity card in the future.

I'd love to talk about how slick it is, and what a great user experience it provides but let's be real: It's a memory card. It works. I haven't had any issues with it, and I would buy it again.

Is this device compatible with TIVO?

I have Amazon Prime and Netflix and currently stream movies through my TIVO. Would I still be able to do that?

Yes. The Amazon Fire connects to a separate HDMI port on your TV, and while I believe it supports Netflix, you can continue to use Netflix through your TiVO instead and Amazon Prime through the Fire.

There is not a web browser built in, so unfortunately not.
