how many 12mega pixel pictures will it hold (digital)
I have a 10MP DSLR and the RAW files are 8-12MB in size while the JPG files are 2-3MB.
With this large range of file sizes is would be hard to know for sure.
Look at the largest and average file size and do the math.

is this device read-only or re-writeable?
I copy files to it into custom created directories to share photos/ tranport to the local camera store and for prints/enlargments.
When done erase the files and do it all over again.
Great for sharing files with computers not on the same network/lack of ability to email large files.
