will the rocketfish thunderbolt mini displayport work on 2008 macbook

I plugged it in and could not get anything to show up on tv. Will this device work with 2008 MacBook or do I need a different adapter
Thunderbolt does not work with pre ~2012 macs.

Panning Left and Right Problem?

I bought this and the left to right panning in dolby and stereo is backwards. The left audio and right audio are switched.... Is there a way to change this??? My tv with a usb, xbox, netflix and dvd player all have correct left to right audio panning. Only the rocket fish with my mac is backwards. Any suggestions?
No way with an HDMI to my knowledge, only RCA....
