The chromecast is a very affordable way to make a non-smart or internet capable TV into a TV that you can put your videos, photos, and mustic onto. Love the ease of use.

is the device set for a particular country

I bought one in England, live in New Zealand but can only get sky programmes for England
The device is not set to a location. The service you are using for TV is probably location specific. The chromecast just takes what you send it and puts it on the TV
