Forget 4K. There's nothing to watch anyway. Spend your money on this TV instead. Dark room, light room, who cares. All of the benefits of the brightness of LED along with blacks deeper than plasma. Black bars literally disappear because those pixels aren't even power on.
The picture quality simply cannot be beat from any LED TV. Movies, TV shows, games all look amazing. This is the future of television.
The curved screen is very subtle. Sitting about 10 feet away, there is no distortion at all.
I have not used the built-in speakers, so I can't comment on the audio quality.
Generally, I dislike all "Smart" apps on TVs, but the WebOS implementation on this TV is by far the best I've ever used. (I still prefer AppleTV though).
Just buy it.

can you use a universal remote?

Can you recommend a universal remote for this TV? If so what do you recommend?
I use a Logitech Harmony One and, for the most part, the directional buttons work just fine for navigating the interface.
