Needed a scanner with at least 600 DPI and ended up settling on this one. I've been very pleased with the results and the settings are easy to use even for a novice. I've been particularly impressed with the auto color correction for old photos!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the photo scanner allow for you to scan to a disc, a cd, or an sid card?

You can but you have to have a computer (you have the ability to designate the file folder home in which the scanned file is saved). Then you would need to actually burn the disk.
