I got this because I was tired of losing my DVR program guide information. Even though I have a whole-house, automatic backup generator, it takes 5 to 8 seconds to kick in and power the house when we get one of our frequent power outages. In those few seconds, our DVR loses all its stored program information and doesn't know when a show that I want to record will come on -- and it takes a few days for it to accumulate or restore the guide. So I got this small UPS just to cover the under 10 second power outage, and it seems to do the job. We had a power outage just a week after I bought this, and the DVR didn't lose the guide data.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: It seems fast enough so that map processing isn't delayed
What's not so great: nothing
I use these for storing map data in my Garmin handheld GPSMap64. When I bought the GPS I thought it could hold large areas of the USA (24K details) on a single 32Gb microSD card, but I found that it can only hold a couple of regions (it's map limited, not SD card capacity-limited!) So I have to distribute my many downloaded map regions among several of these smaller (16 Gb) SD cards. I'm very happy that these smaller cards work so well in the GPS.
This product has... Reliable, Fast recording/download speed
About me... Budget Conscious
I would recommend this to a friend!

How long does the battery last once the power goes out?

That entirely depends on the power consumption of whatever is plugged into it. E.g., a small digital clock might be powered for hours, and a big desktop computer or flat-screen TV might only last a few minutes. You should determine the watt-hours of your UPS to the wattage of your "appliance", and then do the calculation.
