Using the SONOS:SUB with 2 SONOS:ONE speakers. Easy connection and so much more reliable streaming than Airplay. Love that EQ and SUB volume are available in the phone app. Sounds great!

I purchased some SONOS speakers, but still had some nice, high-end speakers and subs lying around. Used the CONNECT:AMP to power them. Love that it has a dedicated sub output. Speaker connectors are push-spring, however the opening is large enough to accommodate "banana plugs". Sounds great when paired with decent speakers.

I am adding a pool to my backyard and looking for an outdoor audio setup. It sounds like the Sonos Amp might be my best bet & possibly cheaper route? My main question is, do I have to wire the outdoor speakers to the AMP?

Yes. CONNECT:AMP does not send wireless audio to speakers. There are a couple of ways around this, but they cost more and the results would probably be worse. The simplest way would be to purchase wireless outdoor speakers. Use the SONOS CONNECT (not the CONNECT:AMP) to connect to your SONOS/WiFi network. The output from the CONNECT would have to go into a Bluetooth sending unit to connect to your outdoor speakers.
