Improved and updated features on this model. We needed a new phone, as our old one would no longer hold a charge. We were happy to see the features on this replacement, as it has many more features than the version we replaced. Works great and the battery from our old model works well in this new one!

What is the range of a typical handset to it's base?
I want to know if there is a cordless phone system that has a long range for the 2nd handset to the base (say 150 feet).
We have had no problems walking to the sidewalk or next door and maintaining phone contact with the base. I routinely take the cordless handset while working in the yard or garage; our older model had some disruptions but this new model is much improved.

Does this phone support speed dial? How many?
Yes, there are 9 speed dial locations (2-9, 0). Speed dial assignments are pulled from your directory entries. The directory feature can store up to 50 entries; more like a cell phone where you can scroll through your contacts. Pretty cool feature.

Can you turn the ringer off without unplugging the phone?
Yes, you can turn the ringer off. Also, there are 10 ringer tones you can choose.
