I bought a set for me and loved them so much I bought a pair for my dad who is hard of hearing. You can hook these up to the cable box and a person who is hard of hearing can hear everything and the TV can be put on regular volume for everyone else.
Great product great value

How do you connect these headphones if your LG Tv only has optical out connection?ie no RCA outputs.

Can others listen?

When plugged into the audio jack in the back of my TV, the TV sound goes silent. I can only hear through the headphones. Others can't listen. Is there a way to alter this so that others aside from me can listen to the TV?
yes If you are using a cable box then hook them up to cable box then one person use the head set and everyone else can listen to TV. This way you can mute TV and listen with headphones and not bother others and still hear everything. This is great for hard of hearing and the rest of the family can listen too.
