I have an iPhone 3GS which is 6 years old and in pristine condition, thanks to the Otterbox Defender case purchased with my phone. When I purchased the iPad Mini 2's for my son and myself for Christmas, deciding on the case was a no-brainer... Otterbox, of course. Just like the phone cases, the Otterbox Defender series case for the iPad Mini 2 offers multi-layer protection, and an outer screen guard hard case which doubles as a stand. I never have to worry about drops, scratches, or any other accidental damage. And, of course, Best Buy had the best price and product availability.

I bought the Red/Black and Blue/Black models for my 2 younger sons last year for Christmas. They love them... and so do I. So, I bought the Mint Green/White model for MYSELF. Now, we can all play multiplayer games together!!!
The nicest thing about the Mint Green/White model is that the Mario Kart 7 software was Pre-Installed; so, I didn't have to spend the extra time downloading it from the Nintendo e-shop. (Both the Red and Blue models came with a code for a free download of Mario Kart 7.)
I just recently ordered another one for my 27 year-old son.
It's a nice little system at a GREAT price.
And... Nintendo e-shop cards will make great stocking stuffers this Christmas.

I bought 2 units, one blue and one red, for my sons (ages 4 & 7) as Christmas gifts, and what GREAT gifts they were. I got these online at BestBuy.com a few days BEFORE Thanksgiving for $99.99, which was an excellent price for the MarioKart 7 bundle. I kept an eye on the ads from Best Buy and all of the competition, and NOBODY beat this price from Black Friday through the pre-Christmas sales.
A note to Parents: If you are getting this as a gift for Christmas, Birthdays, etc. in situations where the recipient may want to play with it immediately, open it up beforehand and do the initial set-up, updates, and free-download of the game so it's ready to go when they're ready to play. I highly recommend setting the Parental Controls, as these things have an Internet browser built-in. It took me a total of about 2 hours to get them up and running (about 20 minutes to go through and set-up the user name, parental controls, and all the other initial set-ups, about another 20 minutes or so to do a system update, and around an hour or so to download the game, which is saved in "block" form on the included SDHC card. The fact that I was setting up 2 units at the same time may have increased the download time somewhat --- who knows.
Had I known that it would take that amount of time, I would have taken care of all of that beforehand.
All that being said... these things are GREAT!!! There are a lot of bells and whistles that your kids will figure out before you will. My 4-year old, after only a day and a half, already figured out how to use the front and rear-facing cameras. I might just treat myself to one for my birthday in a few months. Some kids just never grow up.

I purchased 2 cartridges for my sons (ages 4 & 7) for Christmas, along with 2 Nintendo 2DS consoles. They absolutely LOVE it...and have only stopped playing for meals and bedtimes. I got them on sale for $10.99 a few days BEFORE Thanksgiving, which beat Black Friday and pre Christmas sales prices. I'm happy, the boys are happy; Life is good!!!

I purchased this mount to go with my LG 2.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, as I already have the Rocketfish Tilting Wall Mount for my 42" LG TV. This is a PRICEY mount at $39.99 (Even on sale for $29.99). The soundbar came with a wall mount which could be used with a separate speaker mount. When I pulled the Rocketfish Soundbar Mount out of the box, I was surprised at how much hardware was included (about 16"-20" or more) compared to the space it needed to span (about 4"). I read through the mounting instructions, put everything back in the box, and returned it a few days later. I went to Home Depot and spent around $10 for 2 -8" steel flat braces and some nuts and bolts, which worked perfectly.
There MAY be some soundbar/TV configurations for which all this hardware might be necessary. For me, it just wasn't worth the price.

I've had my eye on this soundbar for about a year, and finally got it at Best Buy for a great price ($149.99). I should add that I already had the 42"LG LED TV (which also has great sound), and wanted a soundbar that would not only match stylistically, but also technologically, and this does both. Set-up is relatively straightforward. Audio inputs include 2 Optical and 1 1/8" phone plug. ***This unit comes with an Optical Cable, so no need to purchase one separately*** It also has a WiFi audio input for TVs and cable boxes that are compatibly equipped.The wireless sub-woofer will pair automatically during the initial set-up (once the sub is plugged-in and the soundbar is turned-on); but, if that fails, it can also be paired manually. Also included is a wall mount, which can be adapted with a quick trip to Home Depot for a couple of flat-braces and nuts & bolts --- less than $10 --- to fit the wall mount for your TV --- no additional holes in the wall.
Audiologically, this unit really delivers some quality sound --- nice full rounded-out bass from the sub, crisp highs, and decent mids.
The unit has an auto on/off feature, which senses the signal from the input and automatically powers-on; after no signal for about a minute, it will automatically power-off.
Another nice feature is the ability to stream music from your iPod of other Bluetooth-enabled device. And a USB port for media on a memory stick.
The remote is comprehensive and includes basic controls for your TV as well. The soundbar itself has touch-sensitive controls for the primary functions (power, volume, play/pause, and function), so once you get it set the way you like, you can put the remote away for safe-keeping --- one less thing to lose.
Now, for the "opportunities for improvement"...
The touch sensitive controls are extremely sensitive, so when dusting/cleaning, the unit will turn on or off. It might be nice to include a lock-out for those controls which would also prevent little fingers #I have 4 and 7 year-old boys) from being tempted to play with the volume.
The diaphragms of the speakers on the soundbar are basically exposed, which concerns me, again from the perspective of a parent with curious little boys that like to "poke at" things. Stylistically, it works; practically, it would be nice if the speakers had covers --- an option, maybe?
Overall, I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with this unit, and would recommend it highly. Thanks LG, and Best Buy!!!

My sons have the original "How to Train Your Dragon" and had watched it at least a half dozen times. They wanted the sequel "How to Train Your Dragon 2", so I set out to find it at a good price (being the price hound that I am). Several weeks before Thanksgiving, it went on sale for $14.99, both at Best Buy and at Walmart; however, I had a $5 My Best Buy Rewards certificate, so it was a no-brainer. I got the DVD at essentially half of the list price, and, most importantly, my sons love the movie. Thanks, Best Buy!!!

What's great about it: Everything
It's Grey's Anatomy... what else needs to be said??? The Bonus features on this set in particular are exceptional... who knew Dr. Webber (James Pickens, Jr.) is a real-life COWBOY and, with the help of other professional rodeo cowboys, raises money for his non-profit, The James Pickens, Jr. Foundation, which helps to fund Hands4Hope and other charitable organizations. There's also an interesting feature about Dr. Robbins' (Jessica Capshaw) loss of her leg, both from a technical perspective, using CGI, and an emotional/mental perspective. Deleted Scenes and Outtakes are also included.
As far as the Packaging concern/comment/complaint mentioned in one of the other reviews... The packaging for Season 9 is a "hybrid" of the Season 1 DVD case and the more "elaborate" packaging of Seasons 2 thru 8; really, not unlike other DVD movie packaging, with a clear/frosted plactic DVD case (with a printed 2-sided cover insert) with 2 hard plastic "pages" inside to hold the 6 DVD's, and a cardboard slip-cover. The DVD's are well-protected and well-presented.

How well doe this handle motion? Any issues with judder?
The fluidity of motion can be adjusted in the Picture portion of the Settings menu by selecting TruMotion and selecting your preference there. I haven't experienced any issues with "jitter" so far; it really depends on the signal quality of your source (cable, dish, etc).

I can't find an equalizer to change the bass setting. The TV is very tinny sounding which is strange as one of the reasons I chose it was for the 2 10 watt speakers but my Sony Bravia only has 5 watts and yet the sound is very rich.
The equalizer is under the Sound option in the Settings menu. Using the remote, press the Settings button (located directly below the Netflix button). Scroll to the bottom icon on the right side of the screen (it's gray with 3 dots) for All Settings. Click ok. Scroll down to Sound; then click the right arrow to move to the sound options. Make sure Smart Sound Mode is in the off position; otherwise, you will not be able to adjust the Equaluzer. Scroll down to Sound Mode Settings and click the ok button. Scroll down to Equalizer and press the ok button. Now, using the arrow and ok buttons on the remote, adjust the Equalizer to your personal preference. When finished, press the Exit key on the remote.
As a side note, using Smart Sound Mode will override any manual settings you have selected; however, it will not change your Settings. If you turn off Smart Sound Mode, it reverts back to the manual settings you selected.

Mount to Vizio Soundbar
My Vizio soundbar has two holes on the back that are threaded for screws, but it didn't seem to work with the instructions on this mount. Has anyone used this to mount a Vizio s4221w-C4 soundbar? What screws do you use and how did you do it?
As I recall, there were NUMEROUS screws which came with this mount. My recommendation would be to test several different sizes BY HAND (do not use a screwdriver) to see which screws fit the threads correctly. If the screws seems to be too tight to turn them by hand, they're probably too large, and you should try a slightly smaller size. If you try to force a screw that's too large, you could strip the threads in the soundbar.
Honestly, I ended up returning mine, as there was just too much hardware for the space I needed to span. Check out my full review if you're interested.

This unit comes with a wall mount, which can be adapted to a TV's wall mount either by using a soundbar mount kit (which may cost from $25 to $40) or by simply going to Home Depot and buying a couple of 8" steel strap plates and some nut and bolts. I attached mine to a Rocketfish TV mount for around $10.

Bluetooth Issues
The Bluetooth keeps cutting out on my sound bar when I am connected to my MacBook and I'm only about 6 feet away from it. I've never had these problems with it before and I've had the system for about 2 years. How can I fix it?
Bluetooth is basically a radio signal, which is subject to interference; so, there may be some new interference in the area.
First, though, I'd try "un pairing" your MacBook, by telling it to "forget this device", and then re-pair it from the beginning. I hope this helps.

how to get flash drive to work with the sound bar
getting error message that 999 file not able to open music files on the usb to play music
The flash drive may contain too many files... Honestly, I haven't tried my USB input yet; however, I do recall seeing something in the users manual. You may need to contact LG product support.

Will this sound bar and subwoofer work with my 42LD450 tv?
It should work with any TV that has either and Optical output or a "headphone" jack (1/8" phono). The unit comes with an optical cable. If you have to use the "headphone" jack from your TV, you will need to purchase a male to male 1/8" phono cable.

There is no HDMI input on this unit. The optical out from the cable box can be connected to the sound bar using the optical cable included with the unit.
As for using your TV remote to control the sound bar... probably not... unless your TV is also an LG. (Check the user manual from your TV) The included remote can be programmed to control the basic functions of your TV (channel up/down, volume, power, and mute).

Compatible with surround sound?
Is this set compatible with a surround sound setup? I'm a novice, so I want to be sure I'm purchasing the best option for my hubs.
If you already have surround sound (presumably at least a 5.1 system), this wouldn't really be a good add-on. This connects directly to the TV and takes the place of any other system. I wouldn't try to add it to anything you may already have.
