I only want to hook up a CD player and speakers - no TV. Can I do that and how?

Can I just plug in my CD player and speakers and use it, or I am I required to hook this thing up to a TV to set it up?
Yes very easy to do I have my satillite radio,TV and 4 speakers,CD changer as well as dvd unit.works awesome
