My previous LG microwave wouldn't open, I had to break the latch.
This one is a good replacement, maybe with same problem, same worry about the latch, fragile turne-table support.
The main design mediocrity is its (mirror glass) door, coupled with its dark inside. Even with the inside light on, you can't see the food being cooked, or the turne-table turning. My wife can't read the control panel to operate, program the cook time, power level ...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can u see your food through the door window while its heating up? Or does the door always have a mirror effect look to it?
NO ! You only see your face mirrored.

Yes, but in the dark.
