I bought this drive both because it was made by WD and because it was USB 3 compatible. The drive works great and data transfer speeds over USB 3 ports are super fast.

It's powered by your USB port. No external power supply.

Is it compatible with Windows XP?
Yes. You really should upgrade your PC though. XP is 14 years old and no longer supported by Microsoft.

Is it comatible with multiple devices?

For example, can I use it on my xbox one day then use it on my laptop later?
No. The Xbox will format the drive when you connect it deleting all other data and partitions. The drive cannot be used for your computer without again formatting the drive.
