Purchased this item 60 days ago and thus far no serious issues. I have not experienced any connection drops or router freezing, and when connected via the LAN ports speeds are normal. The wireless signal is strong throughout the 1st floor, very good on the 2nd floor, and adequate on the 3d floor, but there is obvious transmission speed loss with distance, as the speed decreases from floor to floor.
I would recommend this to a friend!

cable filter

Our TV picture is clear on cable channels but on channels such as NBC CBS ABC the picture is poor and fuzzy, the cable employee came out told us to purchase a filter to plug in to tv, do you know what he was referring to?
A filter is required where ever a non-HD box is operating in an environment where there is HD service . So if you have cable service with 1 HD box and 2 standard boxes, you would need a filter on the 2 standard boxes. The cable company should provide those filters.

Two computers, one connected to a cable modem with Internet service. How do I connect to obtain Internet service without networking?

I have two desktop PC's, One of which is not connected to my cable service.
I have additional incoming wired cable to connect the second computer.

How do I connect to the internet without Networking the two PC's?

Do I need an additional cable modem or just a router or
do I need a combination cable modem with an N router to connect to the internet?
Not certain I am understanding your question correctly; but you can add the 2nd PC by connecting it to a LAN port.
