My brush stops rolling in the middle of vacuuming

It happens to stop when vacuuming a rug or carpet that has hardly or any vent on the under padding. The suction itself its too strong that it sucks up the carpet against the vacuum and this causes the roller to stop without shutting the vacuum completely off. Hope this helps!

How does this do on wood floors?

It works very well, it has pretty good suction. I've used mine on hard surfaces and on high carpet and it works great.
