What's great about it: Lightweight protection. Good folding positions.
What's not so great: Sharp edges on top of inside cutouts, needs smoothing
I prefer portability, this has it. Protects the mini without adding too much weight. Stands up and holds the mini in good positions for reading or watching videos. It is very good except where the top cutouts did not get sanded down enough. I keep running into it when I pick it up with left hand. The Ipad mini with Retina did just fit into the case, so it is deep enough. The four corners do have soft components so that is not sharp. I would buy this again.

Will the skinny iPad mini cover fit the new iPad Mini with retina display
Yes, my mini with retina does fit. Had to push it in but it does hold and stay on.
