We had not purchased a new washer in 19 years. Read all of the reviews for front and top loaders. Picked this one because of the amount water it uses (or rather does not use). Have not had issues with clothes not getting wet enough. Have not had issues with smell. Clothes come clean - sometimes need to be treated first but no more than before. Load sizes have been the same except now I can wash pillows, etc. easier. Sanitize works well on baseball pants (treated first, of course). The only negative is that the door was backwards for what we needed, so we had them installed in a reverse position of where they were before. Also, this is rather expensive though not as much as some others. We had it price-matched to somewhere cheaper. Very happy with my new washer. Oh yeah, it's so nice looking and easy to use that everyone in my house helps use it. :)

mold smell from washer

why does the washer have a moldy smell. I really do not want to leave the washer door open, that is what the sales person said to do.
We leave a wash cloth on top of the washer and simply wipe off the inside of the door. If you notice a lot of water staying behind, wipe off around the rubber ring inside as well. Note that when I say "a lot" I have never had a wash cloth wet enough to wring out after wiping both the ring and the door (literally, it takes about 30 seconds). We have had our washer since April and have not had ANY smell with it.

Can the door be flipped

I just bought this combo last weekend and t is yet to be delivered. I noticed the door can be flipped on the dryer to suit the laundry room but I don't see that listed for the washer. I am replacing a combo that opened on a different side than this does in the picture and I hope the washer door can also be flipped to open to the right and the dryer to the left.
The door on the washer cannot be flipped. Consider flipping the location - cords were long enough. We used to have the washer on the right and the dryer on the left. Now we have the washer on the left and move the clothes out of it into the dryer on the right. It has worked well for us.

light

does this model have a light if so can you turn it on and off
Mine does not. The dryer does though. Also, we did turn off the sound on both the washer and the dryer.
