so just picked up a surface pro and got one of these to go with it. glad I did. they hook on with a magnetic coupler so it snaps in place and works. also acts as a cover for the screen and there is a magnet in it that lets the surface know when cover is closed on it so it shuts off to save battery.

we are using this with a myfi and a vpn so connect to work. so that the user can connect in field. it works great. be sure to pick up the magnetic keyboard so when you need to type you can use that also makes a great cover.

My house is 7,000 square feet, 14 TVs, my son is a gamer, and I have a theater room under my garage that have bad reception for Wi-Fi . Would this router do the job, the modem is on the second floor of the house.
Really depends on how your house is set up and what is between it as well as what other WIFI's are around using same channel's. Mostly if you stick to channels 1, 6, 11, or 14 you will have the best luck or many routers will auto decide for you. Also if you run the 2.4 (longer throw but slower) vs 5g band (shorter but faster). If you can run a network cable from modem to TV room you can plug this router into that cable and have all your tv stuff plugged into a hardline connection from this router. that may also make it closer to the kid's room. or you can also get wifi repeaters that would also improve your signal.

should hook up fine has svga (blue port) or DVI (white port) on back of monitor.
