What's great about it: Great 802.11ac Wave 2
What's not so great: Price for early adoption of Wave 2 technology
This is a great product for a home like mine with nearly two dozen wireless devices and half a dozen wired devices. Performance is great and the ease with which you can allocate the different spectrum is great. Price is a little high, but expected as this is one of the first true Wave 2 devices and a gamer device at that. Still, performance out weighs cost is this case.

Wireless internet connection

I have purchased a HP 5530 e All in One printer. & the instant ink program. I do not have wireless internet connection. I need a wireless router with a hardwire connection an a wireless connection. Now my question: do I buy a wireless end router or a wireless router? I have a HP with windows 8.1
From a network perspective, peripherals should not be connected to the boundary device. This mostly applies to security and best practices. From a home perspective, cost typically is deciding factor - so one device serving multiple functions is more cost effective than two devices.

Per ASUS website, 'both units are hardware identical and feature the same specifications, features and functionality the only difference is product availability based on retailer which is defined by the name of the router'.
