I want to replace DVP-SR200p which is no longer made. Is this similar?

Use source button on remote and then click off tv for choices on source so the you can operate the DVD player and not have tv channels on screen . Then use DVD remote to operate DVD player.

Can you use plug in electrical wire to run this

Yes; very self explanatory on how to connect correctly to TV. Simply follow color code on wires.
Player works fine.
