So, the item is called Beats? Beats, by Dr. Dre.? Haha, are you kidding me?
So, I understood beforehand that these were noise-canceling. Which means that ambient noise around you can still be heard. Your feet in the treadmill, and cars n' such. Hip-hop music is horrid whether there is much ambient noise or not. Think of Ludacris and his new cut, Call ya Bluff... Sound phenomenal in my Jeep Overland, and like whispers on these headphones. It's the low notes, loud with appropriate system. On the flip, if you enjoy pop or dance music these really do perform, they are loud too. Not for hip-hop

I have tried many different headphones for running. While running on a treadmill I kkep my touch in front of me. At times while running my moving arms will "chop" right on the cords. They never leave my ears, if anything, they will remove themselves from the device, but never my ears. They can hurt at times, but just need to be adjusted with each use. I still highly recommend them.

I like to watch music videos while running on a treadmill. I used the A/V Composite cable to hook-up my iPod touch Gen. 4 to the TV in my workout room. When my touch failed, I bought this to bring my iPhone to a 30-pin plug. No go! This piece is not suppored for use with my devices, iPhones too.

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Screen reads, may not perform...
The Best Buy associate said that within the store they only use the Insignia brand, which I found to be hilarious, since they have such a massive Apple standing and focus. Anyway, I was told it acts just as the Apple products and will not give you any device warnings. Then he says, "you can always return it," The words muttered by those who have no idea what they're selling. It functions, but gives device performance warnings.

What's great about it: A light show
What's not so great: The sound in relation to the light show
It's definitely a solidly made speaker. The ambient lights wrap almost completely around the unit. There is a JBL App the works with setting different light sequences/colors. I was more for a nice speaker and I thought something from Harmon Kardon would be awesome. Fell very short.

24k is suspicious
if its 24k contacts, that would mean the 'gold' would not rub off after a few years like many do
24K gold is the purest gold. It is merely added as a coating that is so soft it works as something mold-able, thus fore providing a super snug fit. Real gold plated connections will indeed rub off in time, it's normal.
