Unable to use card

When I placed a new card in my camera- Konica Minolta DImage Z6, I am getting the code "unable to use card"... This is the correct card to use, so what is the problem? It freezes up the camera so I am not able to format it, I can only turn it off. This is frustrating, please help.

Pam, if you are not able to format the card it is possible that the card is bad. I've had this happen before. I would try another card if you have one just to make sure that its not an issue with the camera.
